About Us

The Public Foundation CAMP, «Tabiat»

The Public Foundation CAMP, “Tabiat” is the branch of the Public Foundation CAMP Alatoo (Kyrgyzstan) in Tajikistan and is located in the town of Khorog, the administrative centre of GBAO. The CAMP Tabiat began its activities in January of 2013.

The Mission

Our mission is to promote the sustainable development of mountain regions (villages) in Tajikistan through the cooperation between partner organizations at the regional and international levels. Our aim is to make a positive contribution to improving the living standards of the rural population of Tajikistan by supporting the sustainable use of natural resources (forests and pastures) and promoting sustainable adaptation of these resources and resource users to the climate change.

The Aim

Tasks

  • Support for the local population of the mountain regions in the area of sustainable forest management and the integrated management of natural resources by raising awareness and capacity among the people and the parties involved.

  • Development and adaptation of the tools for sustainable use of natural resources, forest restoration and adaptation to the climate change, based on an ecosystem approach.
  • Develop approaches and technologies for sustainable forest management and integrated management of land resources and their distribution.

  • Promote cooperation among government agencies and users of natural resources, and support the political dialogue between the parties concerned.
